Been a while since one of these. I’m out the door soon to go to band practice but I was up early today and spent most of the afternoon listening to records. My record player had been out of commission since I rearranged my room but I shuffled some more things around last night, cleared all the shit off the record player and set it up again. Picked up a couple records this past week, got the new Iron Age 2xLP in the mail and had some records I’d been meaning to listen to for a while now. Everything should be easily identifiable except for Moon Colony Bloodbath that’s oh so good. JD + JV = perfect.

After the gym Andrew came over, we had some slurpees and talked about our feelings then I took him home. Spent the rest of the night lazing around, cleaned my room though so I accomplished something.

vpl2

Walls – 1 Sided 12″
- Got this in the mail today, good stuff, hope they play here soon.

Hatred Surge/Iron Lung collab 7″
- Same with Walls, came in the mail today, not as good as the respective works of each band but at least that awful female singer isn’t on this. I’m sure I’ll get into it after a few more listens.

The Mountain Goats – Tallahassee LP
- The best of the best, the first Mountain Goats record I ever heard, top 3 for me.

Red House Painters – Ocean Beach 2×10″
- Admittedly, my first listen since I got it in the mail a few weeks ago. Sounds beautiful on vinyl, Shadows and Drop sound perfect. I fell asleep during Drop and woke up at Brockwell Park Pt. 2, it was nice.

Statues – Same Bodies, Same Faces 7″
- Ontario’s finest, listen to this band, seriously.

The Smiths – Meat is Murder LP
- Ben Brake gave this to me for free, Ben Brake is a great dude.

Gonna start making these every night that I’m bored and have nothing better to do than listen to records then take pictures of the records I listened to that night.

vpl11Tonight was as follows:

Pentagram – First Daze Here Too 2xLP
- Collection of early stuff from Pentagram, including a pretty cool cover of Under My Thumb by the Rolling Stones.

Screeching Weasel – Punkhouse 7″
- 1 of 3 SW 7″s that I recently won on eBay, looking forward for the other two to arrive.

Cursed – Hell Comes Home b/w Search and Destroy 7″
- Duh, awesome song, awesome cover.

Led Zeppelin – The Song Remains The Same 2xLP
- Best live album ever? I think so, No Quarter – so good. Does anybody remember laughter?

Mind Eraser – Prodigal Son Brings Death 7″
- Newest release from one of the best bands in hardcore, last year saw two releases from them, a 2 song LP and this 10 song 7″, both are incredible.

Morser/The Swarm split 7″
- I have Cory Kobbert to thank for me buying this one, he pressured me into it when we saw Defiance, Ohio in Buffalo a few years ago.
