Actually last night I dreamed a friend and I shoplifted from a department store. All we stole was socks and underwear. We ran to my car, for some reason he tried to pull some Dukes of Hazzard shit and slide over the hook. It was raining, he wiped out.
Still looking for motivation. Eating Glass is playing with Pulling Teeth on July 17th in Montreal, that’s about all i’ve got for getting my zine done. Was this even worth a post? We played our first show since PA/NJ on Friday. It went as well as it could I guess. I always hate playing in Toronto for some reason, I still don’t know exactly why.
After the show Jade and I made pizza, by the time it was finished it was 3am and Jade was asleep. Look for this shit in the aforementioned zine, it will be part one of the hopefully ongoing segment dubbed as “Old Man Colohan’s Recipes For Success.” Shit was real good, sun-dried tomato and artichoke hearts on focaccia, mmm.

Here’s how I spent the better part of my day yesterday. I got a burrito and found a nice park in Toronto and read a good portion of Hot Water Music. Good book, I ended up falling asleep in the park with my book in hand. I now have a stupid tan.
After that I met up with Jade and Billy for food at Sadie’s then went to Rotate with Billy. Skateboarded to Dundas Square because there was something going on attempting to beat a Guinness World Record (most people playing the same song on guitar at the same time?) I went because the number one voted song was Helpless by Neil Young. I had to sit through two awful originals by the band playing and then the other top 9 songs from the list (Canadians fucking suck, you seriously voted Feist and that girl with the song about a basement apartment on a list of the best Canadian guitar songs?)
Furthermore, what a terrible Neil Young song to pick. It’s a great song but I mean lyrically it’s a pretty sad song, definitely not one I’d want to try and break a record with. Musically it’s a piano/slide guitar heavy piece, with the acoustic guitar just barely audible most of the time. They dragged that shit out for like 6 minutes and the asshole playing electric guitar threw in a solo. No one was even singing the chorus properly.
Anyways, thankfully the band was loud enough to drown out the 1600 retards trying to break the record, even though they butchered the song themselves. There were 1600ish people there and the record was in the 1800s. So awesome when the dude from Guinness got onstage and said unfortunately the record wasn’t beat, everyone was so bummed. Good, glad my time wasn’t completely wasted, I always take joy in seeing shitty people bum out.
Toronto is a shit hole, Kitchener is a shit hole, if I could feasibly live in Chicago I would in a second, I don’t know if I could stand being away from my best friends, it’s a scary thought. Same thing goes for cellphones, I’d love to get rid of mine completely but people my age have become so dependent on them (myself included) that I feel I would lose contact with a lot of friends because of it.
I find myself guilty of this from time to time, putting more attention towards someone on the phone before someone I’m in the room with. I know the feeling, it’s just awkward and makes you think…wow this person must really care about what’s going on right here, right now, huh?
If I’m guilty of this around you, knock my phone out of my hand, I feel like a piece of shit when I do this.
Tell me why are you like this
Are you the same with anyone?
Save me from my sickness and tell me
Why do you treat me like this?
I’ve been in a rut all week, finally decided to dig myself out. No use brooding over shit that’s not worth my time, might as well keep positive and do positive things. I’ve got a few crucial replies in regards to the vegan zine, it’s coming together but typing up shit on a typewriter sucks so it’s coming together slowly. I’m hoping June-July, sooner than later. Also, Thanks To You 03 in 2009? Maybe, I love and am extremely proud of my friends and heard something last night that blew me away.

Now, we’re going to make a new rule. When you come in here and you hear me typing or whether you DON’T hear me typing, or whatever the FUCK you hear me doing; when I’m in here, it means that I am working, THAT means don’t come in. Now, do you think you can handle that?
Last night Wayfarer played in St. Catharines with Good Luck, Failures Union and the Atlantic. All fantastic bands who you should check out. Anyways, we showed up mega-early and were hanging out in the back of the venue and I found this typewriter. It was huge and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work, then Timur (the guy putting on the show) came back and told me there was another one downstairs and that I could have it if I wanted, AWESOME.
Since I don’t own a printer and neither does anyone in my house, I’ve decided I’m going to type up all of the recipes for my zine on this little guy. Should get annoying after the first 15 minutes but it’ll look punk, and that’s all that matters really.
If you are reading this and are vegan, or good at making some sort of vegan dish, get at me, I need a few more recipes. Sidenote, I suck for reusing episodes for my screencaps but I watched the Shining earlier this week.
It was Andrew’s birthday yesterday so I decided to put to use one of the recipes that’s going to be in my zine. It turned out pretty great. Vegan vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate chips.

Dong.
Cutting dong.
Eating dong.
Sorry, I guess it’s been a long time since I’ve made a post. I’m glad some people care so hopefully this will satisfy you. As some of you know I’m putting together a vegan recipe zine. I’ve got a lot of really good recipes so far, still looking for some more so if you’re interested in being a part of this please contact me.
This recipe comes from Klint, a rad dude who plays in a rad band called Reign Supreme. As the title of this post indicates, it’s tempeh, quinoa, edemame and grilled onion. I’m not going to post the recipe but if you want it, pick up the zine when it’s out. Here are pictures from my stab at it tonight. It turned out great but I have no friends so no one else had any, so that “great” might be a little biased.

My first attempt at a pie went pretty well. Not exactly the best LOOKING food I’ve made but it tastes as good as DQ ice cream cake, if not better. For the crust I basically just made a bunch of peanut butter cookie batter and dropped it into a pie tin. The result was caramelized peanut butter and sugar on the underside of the pie (see pictures).

So tonight Kevin and I whipped up a breakfast meal with the leftovers from the baconator (the bacon and cheese), some pancakes, homefries and English muffins to make sammiches.

That’s an English muffin sandwich with bacon, eggs and cheese in between two pancakes, theoretically I should be dead. Go vegan and grow a bad mustache.

So the Veganator mission was a great success, they ruled, so did the fries and frosty. Happy valentines day. I love myself more than you love your significant other, fuck you.

We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger.

It’s 5:30am, I’m at work and I haven’t eaten for about 8 hours. I’m starving, thinking about all the good food I’m going to make on the long weekend (Family Day, fuck yeah!) Several months ago I mentioned the idea of making a vegan baconator since I’ve never had the real thing and never will. I’ve decided to finally go through with it, Saturday. It’s actually going to happen. I’ll post pictures after it’s done. I’m thinking sweet potato X yukon gold fries to go along with it and maybe a mint chocolate chip frosty. We’ll see how I’m feeling on Saturday, but the veganator itself will happen.
Here’s the first proper picture of me and my main squeeze, from the show on Saturday by Pat. You can really tell I’ve been working out. Actually I’ve just been doing rails.

Don’t ask me, I’m just a girl.
